INTRO

August continues being August. Not going crazy on the development front. Just continuing to do small changes here and there.

I'm starting to plan for larger features again. Might start on those next cycle.

PRODUCT

Product development was pretty active behind the scenes. There weren't too many public facing changes. I merged a PR by a customer to allow SFTP passwords when importing your uploads directory. I also made the Ymir plugin disable search engine indexing if you're only using a vanity domain.

Behind the scenes, I managed to get Papertrail to work with Laravel Vapor. Papertrail is an awesome log management service. So I spent a good part of the cycle adding logging to Ymir. This isn't the most consumer centric change, but it's useful to see what's happening inside Ymir when I'm doing support.

I also wrapped up my first small polish pass at the dashboard. You now a bit more details whenever you're viewing your team resources.

I plan on continuing to slowly build out the dashboard. It's a bit slower than the other development because of the design element.

MARKETING

Marketing week wasn't the craziest. I didn't get any questions for the Q&A, so didn't record anything. But I actually saw another Twitter thread with questions and comments which I should do videos on.

I did a small post on my website about using Papertrail with Laravel Vapor. Wasn't Ymir specific, but I was happy to write something.

I also wrote a guide on how to map a domain to a project environment. I continue to invest heavily in the documentation because, as a developer focused product, I think it'll have great ROI in the long term.

BUSINESS

You can always view Ymir's up-to-date business metrics at ymirapp.com/open. They're updated every 10 minutes.

August is usually a slow month. However, a lot of people are discussing that June, July and August have been slower than usual this year. I'm too small to notice this still, but it's interesting to know.

In fact, Ymir continues to grow. I'm up one customer this month for a total of 15. I lost two and gained three.

I've also received a lot of inbound interest in the last two weeks. Including those, I'm also getting consulting requests and migration requests. So much so that I added a question to the FAQ on the pricing page.

I don't know how well it'll all translate to the business. But it's still nice :)
