Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iām building. INTRO Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! š¦šØš¦ I want to keep this report positive today. I'll discuss the WordPress situation and Ymir once I've had time to process things some more. It's been a lot for everyone. On happier news, I'm delighted to say I have my second agency partner: 40Q! We launched their first project last month. The real test for the platform was last week and everything went amazingly well! š„³ I'll talk more about it further down! PRODUCT You can always view the history of Ymir's product development at https://ymirapp.com/changelog. Consulting work really picked up and I'll be quite busy until American Thanksgiving. I still want to do a few Ymir things here and there, but I have to focus on that work for now. MARKETING Everything Ymir is on hold with the consulting work. That said, I want to work with 40Q to get a case study up as fast as possible. BUSINESS You can always view Ymir's up-to-date business metrics at ymirapp.com/open. They're updated every 10 minutes. I'm thrilled to have a second agency partner! This was a multiyear process with them. A lot of agencies are interested about Ymir when we talk about it at WordCamps. The challenge is always about finding the right project and client to use it. With 40Q, we finally had that opportunity with Open House New York. It's a once a year event where there's ticket sale (October 8th this year) where TONS of people hammer the site. Last year, they were on the largest non-enterprise plan of their host and the whole thing blew up. Because Open House New York is a non-profit, they're pretty price sensitive. So paying that much for hosting all year long and not have it perform on the one day they needed it to was a huge issue. I'm so happy the ticket sale went through with no issues this year! š„³ These are all things I'll cover in the case study. āMindsize also brought another client last month, and they've loved the product. All these little wins make me really happy. š Especially with all the other stuff going on. Carl |
Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iām building. INTRO So I'm back from CloudFest. I'm really happy with the experience overall. I'm not sure if it'll be worth it financially. That said, I'll definitely go back for the hackathon at the very least. The hackathon was such a great experience. It was my first one, and I was so blown away by it. Joost did a small write up on it that I found great. From a business...
Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iām building. INTRO We did it fam! I finally have the second Ymir case study published. š„³ It's been a mad two weeks for me with Ymir. I've basically decided to go all in with supporting project types outside WordPress. I was aiming for Drupal next, but things are moving in Laravel land so I'm thinking of doing Laravel first. (More on that later.) Radicle support hasn't launched...
Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iām building. INTRO Smaller gap between updates this time! There's been some good progress with adding Radicle support to Ymir. I'll talk about it more in the product section. But I've been having a lot of fun puttering on Ymir. I also finally wrapped up my year in review! There are some new thoughts on Ymir there, like the importance of not dying. But also the need to branch out...
