Heya friend!
Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iām building.
INTRO
It was WordCamp Tokyo last weekend. It was a lot of fun to see the Japanese WordPress community. (Even if I don't speak Japanese š ) It was really draining. I wasn't quite ready for that much social after my burnout. (I slept 10h last night š¤£)
I've been continuing to do maintenance work on the application. I have a few things going on at once. It's been pretty cathartic to just do some cleanup and upgrades.
Business is stable. Looks like flat growth for the month.
PRODUCT
You can always view the history of Ymir's product development at https://ymirapp.com/changelog.
I've been continuing to do maintenance work for Ymir. On the application side, I'm slowly adding detailed logging to the application. This is thanks to a customer who finally found a logging service that works well with Lambda. It's called Axiom.
Once I'm done with work on the Laravel side, I'll be working on adding support for it with Ymir projects. This mainly means writing a guide and doing small changes to the application to make it easier to use. I'm excited as the lack of a good logging solution has been one of the major downsides of serverless.
I'm also doing code upgrades. For example, I started to use PHP 8.2 features. I also started upgrading my code to pass phpstan level 6. (I think I had almost 1000 issues when I started š¤£) Thel long-term goal is to get the code to pass the max level.
I'm also working on creating and automating changelogs for the Ymir open source projects. I'm trying release-please, but it's not perfect. If you use another library, let me know.
MARKETING
I should maybe rename this business development since it makes less and less sense to do traditional SaaS marketing. š I had some good meetings for partnerships. I also had some good discussions with an agency at WordCamp Tokyo.
BUSINESS
You can always view Ymir's up-to-date business metrics at ymirapp.com/open. They're updated every 10 minutes.
As I said, this month should be flat. I have one trial so nothing amazing.
I had some interesting discussions at WordCamp Tokyo where someone was like I should add zeroes to all the prices and forget the personal plan. I really don't want to do that. I feel I'm giving up on making the product financially accessible.
However, I agree the pricing still needs work. I'm not actually sure the agency tier makes sense. I'm thinking most agencies will have their clients buy individual license.

Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iām building. INTRO Fall is almost here! August has been super busy with a lot of work going on behind the scenes. I'm happy to say that Ymir now supports SQS queues. š„³ The feature is live and documented in the configuration reference and change log. There isn't much else to do with it for now. I'm not adding SQS support for WordPress yet, so this is really for Laravel support....
Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iām building. INTRO If you're in the summer hemisphere, I hope you're enjoying your summer (or your winter down there! š ) I've had an amazing summer with lots of friends visiting. It's also been very busy with consulting work and Ymir! Laravel support continues to progress. I think I'm finally done with most of the refactoring of the Laravel app. I've begun working on supporting...
Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iām building. INTRO It's been a busy month for me with Ymir and consulting! The most exciting thing is that Ymir sponsored its first WordCamp! š„³ It was a cool milestone for me and I need to put it on the open dashboard when I have a moment. Laravel support is progressing at a good pace. I've wrapped up the refactoring of the deployment code. It was a huge undertaking and involved...
