Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that I’m building. INTRO Unless you've been hiding under a rock, I'm sure you're aware of the PHP security vulnerability that dropped last Wednesday! It was a stressful day for many people. For me, it wasn't so much. I'd been working on automating a lot of things with the runtime already so that AI could work autonomously on it. Once PHP released the versions with the fixes, my agents coordinated and handled the release. Otherwise, it was a slow two weeks for Ymir. I was busy travelling for my 20th college reunion. I also had some other things going on that I can't talk about yet. PRODUCT You can always view the history of Ymir's product development at https://ymirapp.com/changelog. Since the last report, I shipped the health checks for WordPress. So we're wrapped up for that. Otherwise, the only product work was fixing the runtime for the PHP2Shell exploit. I'll be shifting back to work on observability and more marketing work. I'm also thinking a lot about security. What happened last week is just the beginning. AI will fundamentally change security on the internet. I think it's a great opportunity for Ymir. My current view is that serverless is one of the most secure ways to host applications as AI threats increase. They're disposable, isolated environments with no file access. Something like PHP2Shell is a lot harder to exploit with serverless. MARKETING Nothing new on the marketing side. I have more plans, but nothing live yet. I think the first step is to update the blog design, so I can wrap the redesign project. BUSINESS You can always view Ymir's up-to-date business metrics at ymirapp.com/open. They're updated every 10 minutes. The business side is quiet as well. Still working on bringing on help with sales. There's something in the pipeline for the partnership as well. Carl |
Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that I’m building. INTRO A bit late with the report. It was Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday! 🦃 That said, it's been a busy two weeks! The redesign work continues. I shipped the new Ymir documentation site. There's only the blog left to do. I've also started working on the product again. I'm still in discussion around bringing in help with sales. PRODUCT You can always view the history...
Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that I’m building. INTRO Things have been moving a lot since the Jason podcast. I've been trying to maintain momentum since then. I'm grateful to AI because I'm juggling a lot of things right now. 😅 I'd been working on a redesign for Ymir. That launched last week for the marketing site. I still have to do the blog and the documentation site. I'm still adding pages and fleshing things...
Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress & PHP serverless DevOps platform that I’m building. INTRO A bit of a delay for this report. My dad was in the hospital last week, and I spent a lot of time there. Luckily, he's doing a lot better now. 🙏 It did impact things. I didn't work on Ymir as much, even though it's the only thing I have going right now. That said, this created enough of a delay that the podcast I recorded with Jason Cohen is out now!...
