Ymir Report #59 ā€” WCUS

Heya friend!

Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iā€™m building.

INTRO

This will be a short one. I just got back from WCUS. I spent all of last week in DC so didn't get to work much and the week before was still heavy in consulting.

I'm also exhausted because Carl likes to party and stay up late šŸ™ƒ

I know I keep repeating myself on this, but I mostly feel like Ymir does progress as a business when I go to WordCamps. I met a lot of key people on this trip. I had some really good meetings (and scheduled follow-up meetings!)

PRODUCT

You can always view the history of Ymir's product development at https://ymirapp.com/changelog.

No work on the product this cycle. I'm thinking about what I want to work on next. Livewire v3 just came out. I was waiting for that to go back to work on the dashboard.

Long term, I really want Ymir to have an experience that's closer to Vercel. That requires that I invest a good amount of time on the dashboard.

MARKETING

My only goal for this cycle was to create a headstart project using Ymir. I'm happy to say that I got it done! You can find it here.

BUSINESS

You can always view Ymir's up-to-date business metrics at ymirapp.com/open. They're updated every 10 minutes.

Really excited about the business. Each WordCamp feels like a flywheel where I'm slowly making more of the right connections for Ymir. This time felt like a really big spin of that flywheel.

I'm sure it'll take months for the relationships to grow. But it's still better than not having them. That was so much of my challenge before. I couldn't find the right people to talk to about Ymir or who might be interested in it.

I'm still far from working on this full time. It sucks, but I'll take the high right now. Stand by for the next low in a month or so šŸ¤£

Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iā€™m building. INTRO Heya! It's been a little while since the last report. December was super busy and then I had some unfortunate events during the holiday and in January which delayed a lot of stuff. I'm still not done writing my year in review because of them šŸ«£šŸ˜… There's actually been quite a bit of work done on the product since the last update. The biggest new feature is PHP...

Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iā€™m building. INTRO I hope everyone in the USA had a great Thanksgiving! šŸ¦ƒ Well, if October was busy, November was even more so! I had a lot of contract work. I was also lucky that some clients postponed some of it until this month or next year. One difference with October is that some of my consulting work was Ymir related! This allowed me to get some bug fixes in, as well as...

Heya friend! Carl here. You signed up to receive updates about Ymir, the WordPress serverless DevOps platform that Iā€™m building. INTRO It's been a busy October for me on the consulting front. Lots of contracts and I have some new ones starting next month as well. I wish I had some time to dedicate to Ymir, but I have to prioritize that work. Especially since 2024 was a slower year for me and Ymir's business shrunk. I figured this was a good time to do some writing on the current WP...
